 Bushes  are dormant in winter. Dormancy helps bushes survive winter cold. 

Pruning season. Each bush is trimmed to promote fruit yield and easy picking.  Clippings are collected and burned. 

Bushes leaf out and flower. Honey and wild bumble bees pollinate flowers. Drip lines for irrigation are activated. 

 Start of growing season. First berries ready in about a month. Netting is rolled out to protect berries from birds. 

 Pick-your-own (PYO) season begins. Specific start /end dates depend on weather. Berries range in color from medium to dark blue.  

 PYO season ends. Time to roll up the netting and tie it down for winter. 

 Bushes  show off their fiery fall foliage and when leaves drop, their bright  crimson stalks. Time to mulch the bushes to protect roots from winter  cold.

 Dormant time again. Start of another yearly cycle.
